Buck's Pocket State Park
Where are you coming from?

In northeast Alabama lies a place, where folklore has it, that defeated politicians ran away to following an unsuccessful election. Secluded in a natural pocket of the Appalachian Mountain chain, Buck's Pocket State Park is filled with 2,000 acres of panoramic vistas, hiking and horseback riding trails, improved camping and picnicking. A boat launch for fishing on Lake Guntersville is located seven miles from the park.
