75th Anniversary Diamond Treasure Geocaching Challenge

The Alabama State Parks has designed a geocaching challenge to help celebrate our 75th Anniversary this year.
We hope this challenge will add another level of excitement to an already popular past time among our park “partners”.

Preliminary events

February 28, 2014. 7pm – 9pm. Meet and greet at “Good Ole Boys” Restaurant in Auburn, Alabama.

March 1st – Chewacla State Park.

9am – “Cache In Trash Out”
10am - Poker Run with Door Prizes
Noon - Cook Out (Burgers and Hot Dogs)
After Lunch – Coordinates to all 8 Parks participating in the 75th Anniversary Geocaching Challenge.

The Challenge
The 75th Anniversary Diamond Treasure Geocaching Challenge incudes 8 State Parks. These coordinates inside the Parks will be announced on March 1st. Each cache will provide a clue and after the cachers visit all 8 Parks they will combine the clues to determine where the final cache is located.

A special 75th Anniversary commemorative coin will be awarded to the first 75 contestants to complete the challenge. There will be 75 winners only.

This challenge is separate from the normal geocaching challenge that involves all 22 state parks. Both challenges will be in effect for 2014.
