2009 Calendar of Events

DeSoto State Park along with Jacksonville University Field School and Little River Canyon National Preserve bring you a series of interpretive programs, hikes, and workshops intended to educate the public about all things nature.

Campfire Talks are a series of educational & entertaining programs located in the great outdoors. Campfire programs are held almost every Friday & Saturday evening (May –November) in DeSoto’s James L. Wynn Campfire Ring in the Improved Campground. All programs are open & free to the public. Seating is limited, so bring your own comfortable chair if you wish. In case of bad weather, programs are moved to the Nature Center (next to the Country Store).
Contact: Brittney Hughes, Park Naturalist, for information on any programs.
