It's the Alabama State Parks 75th anniversary this year! Come on out and celebrate with us in 2014! Bring the family and enjoy our  events listed below to help us celebrate!

75th Anniversary Frank Jackson State Park

July 4, 2014
4:00p.m to 9:00p.m

City of Opp and Frank Jackson State Park presents July 4th celebration. This annual
family fun event is held on July 4th at
Frank Jackson State Park in Opp, Alabama
from 4:00pm to 9:00pm. Free hotdogs,
watermelons, and sodas/water will be served
beginning at 4:00pm. Families can picnic and
swim in the beautiful lake at Frank Jackson
State Park. Shortly after dark, we’ll have a
spectacular fireworks show over the lake.

 

 


October 1, 2014 to November 30, 2014
6:00am to 7:00pm


Over 300 hundred scarecrows spread along
the trails at Frank Jackson State Park will
greet you as you enjoy the beauty of the
state park. Approximately 3 miles of walking
trails filled with scarecrows. Enjoy the fall colored leaves, a calming lake view and creative
scarecrows placed throughout the Park’s walking trails.


 

 

 

 

4th Annual Scarecrows In The Park 
October through November

Scarecrows will line the walking trails of Lake Frank Jackson State Park during the months of October and November. The event is hosted by the Lake Frank Jackson Trailmasters who started the event in 2008. The scarecrows are creatively made by various individuals, businesses, and school groups. Approximately 3 miles of walkings trails will take on very festive and original characters during the 4th annual "Scarecrows In The Park."
