Reservations for holiday weekends should be made at least 3 months in advance.

In the event that no one is at the registration office, call the front desk(256-247-5461) and someone will come to the campground registration office to check you in. The phone number is also on the office door after hours.

The campground is a favorite among campers and features large, level sites among towering pines. There are 116 campsites in the improved campground - 110 sites with full hook-ups, which includes water, electric and sewage hook-ups. Joe Wheeler Resort State Park also has a primitive campground in which guests can use the bathhouse located in the adjacent C loop of the campground. These sites do not have electrical hook-ups, but water hydrants are located in this area.
Each loop in the campground has a modern bathhouse with hot showers. Park staff clean bathhouses daily.

$5.00 charge for addtional tent(for children under age 12)
Senior Citizen (62 and older) Discount Available Sunday - Thursday
Fees based on 4 persons with a maximum of 8 persons per site.
A one-night deposit is required to hold a reservation.

Discounts:
Camping – All senior citizens (62+) and 100% disabled persons are eligible for a 15% discount Sunday Night through Thursday Night, March - October, and all nights November - February with the exception of Holiday weekends. Proof of age and disability is required.
Discounts are not available in conjunction with group rates, special packages, or other discounts.
