Pet Friendly We understand that with today's traveling expenses the difference in taking a vacation or staying home could be taking your pet, boarding your pet or finding someone to take care of this member of your family. We hope the following information will help your family better enjoy Alabama State Parks. Dogs assisting the disabled are not considered pets hence are welcome in all facilities at no additional charge (with proper disability assistance information).
To ensure your visit with us is fun for the whole family please check with the park you plan to visit for park specific information on pets. In addition to pets being allowed in all campgrounds, the following parks have additional pet friendly facilities: Pets are allowed ONLY in cabins, chalets or cottages designated as "Pet Friendly." Pets will not be allowed in or around any other room, cabin, chalet or cottage and they cannot be left unattended at anytime. Dogs are only allowed in designated dog areas and must be on a 6-foot leash. Guest is responsible for any damage caused by pets and may also be asked to leave if pet disturbs other guests. The owner will not be refunded for any part of their reservation. Guest is responsible for ensuring their pet has the most current vaccinations, is free of fleas, ticks or mange, and is not in heat. Guest may be requested to present proof of vaccination. Frequently asked questions about pets:Are pets allowed in cabins, cottages or chalets? Are pets allowed in Country store, restaurants or any food service areas? Are pets allowed in the bathhouse, pool or in swimming areas? Are pets allowed on the trails? Can my pet ride on the back of my truck, top of my car or be left in my car or tied to railing or tree unattended or without a leash? What pets are not allowed or other restrictions I need to know? If my pet disturbs other guest or presents a risk to other guest what will happen?
