ALABAMA STATE PARKS
SCHEDULED OPEN HOUSE EVENTS

| CATHEDRAL CAVERNS STATE PARK- |
Will give away “Friends of the Cave” passes for the first two registered visitors on each scheduled tour on August 28th. The passes will give the holder a discount on future visits to Cathedral or Rickwood Caverns.

| CHEAHA STATE PARK- |
Self Tours 10 am - 3 pm - Get directions and a map with trail information to each site at the gate .
Guest met at the gate can leave their name and address and they will qualify for a chance to win prizes. First prize is a free vacation for up to 4 people for five nights in a hotel room, Sunday through Thursday. Second prize is one free night in a hotel room for up to 4 people, Sunday through Thursday night. Winners must use their free vacations before October 1, 2010.
Cheaha Restaurant will have a picnic special (get a coupon at the gate for this special).
A Lunch Buffet is also available.
A king deluxe room will be available for viewing. Noon – 3:00 pm

| DESOTO STATE PARK- |
Will have a lodge hotel room, log cabin, and chalet open for the public to view. The lodge will have information packets available in the lobby along with refreshments. A special Saturday night buffet will be available from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

| JOE WHEELER STATE PARK- |
Will have one of the lakeside cottages on display for general public to visit.

| LAKE LURLEEN STATE PARK- |
All children 11 years old and under will receive free admission to the park. Adults 12 and over, pay one entrance fee and receive one free for a friend. Canoe and Peddle boat rentals, $2.00 off regular price. A drawing for two nights free camping on a basic site (Sunday –Thursday), excludes holiday weekends, and football weekends and must be used by 12-31-2010.

| LAKEPOINT RESORT STATE PARK- |
Visitors will register for tours of all park lodging facilities. Registration for drawings each hour for rate discounts, hats, t-shirts, etc. Refreshments will be available.

| MONTE SANO STATE PARK- |
A mountain-top cabin will be open for display along with a self guided hike. $1.00 entrance fee for the day.

| PAUL GRIST STATE PARK- |
All boat rentals reduced to half price. A drawing for two free nights of camping in the park based on availability.
|
| ROLAND COOPER- |
Jon boat rentals will be discounted to half price. A cabin will be open for visitors to tour. Open invitation to everyone to come out and enjoy the park.
