Spectacular views from Alabama's highest mountain abound.

Spectacular views from Alabama's highest mountain abound.

Each year, Cheaha Resort State Park hosts the Annual Mountain Bike Championship Race. The race follows a 10-mile course set-up on the Park's Mount Cheaha Express Bike Trail. For more information, on this event and others in the area click here!

ADA Bald Rock Boardwalk Trail covered in snow.

Cheaha Resort State Park offers several hiking-only trails.

Near the Bald Rock Group Lodge is the ADA Bald Rock Boardwalk Trail. The parking area for this trail is located to the side of the Bald Rock Group Lodge, in front of the trailhead.  One-quarter-mile in length, this interpretive trail terminates in a scenic overlook from where views stretch halfway to Birmingham.

Just before you reach our Bluffside Cabins(cabins numbered 1-4 and 16), you will reach the beginning of the Pulpit Rock Trail. The parking area for this trail is located on the right side of the road, just before you get to the Bluffside Cabins.  A moderate hike, Pulpit Rock is a quartzite rock facing where many guests come to rappel or just take in the view.

The trailhead for the  Rock Garden and Lake Trail, the most difficult trail in the park, is located between Cabins Numbered 8 and 9(our 4-capacity cabins). The lake trail is responsible for more than a 1,000-foot elevation change in the first 1/2 mile of the trail.

*** The Talladega National Forest charges day use fees in some of its recreation areas.  These fees are separate from any day use fee charged at Cheaha Resort State Park.
