DeSoto State Park's Ghosts on the Mountain Spookapalooza, October 25th - 27th, 2013

 

Join us for our annual Spookapalooza at DeSoto State Park for a weekend of fun events guaranteed to run shivers up and down your spine!   Movies, treats, games, storytelling and much more are in store for you during this popular annual event.  So....grab your favorite costume, bring the family, and come stay with us!  All events are free and open to everyone.  Great for all ages! Call us for reservations (256) 845-0051, or (800) 252-7275.  Stay in one of our cozy cabins or chalets, in the rustic lodge rooms, or be close to nature in the modern campground under the stars! 

 

DeSoto State Park will also be hosting our 2nd Annual Spookapalooza Pumpkin Carving Contest the week of October 21st - 26th.  Entries can have any theme or design, example: Halloween, nature or fall season, etc.  Entries will be judged on overall appearance, creativeness, neatness, and originality.  Pumpkins for carving will be available at the DeSoto State Park Country Store, if needed starting, Monday, October 21st, and all entries must be turned in to the DeSoto State Park Nature Center by 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26th.  Anyone is invited to enter!  All entries will be on display throughout our Spookapalooza festivities.  Winners will be announced at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26th.  For a complete schedule of events surrounding the festivities of our Spookapalooza weekend contact Brittney Hughes by emailing Brittney.Hughes@dcnr.alabama.gov or call (256) 997-5025.  Also visit our DeSoto State Park Facebook or website for Spookapalooza photos, etc. of past events!
