Lake Guntersville State Park has many attractions within one place. Fishing from our 69,000-acre lake; renting a pontoon, canoe, or flat bottom fishing boat; hiking miles of trails; enjoying interpretive programs; relaxing in a lakeside cottage or mountain top chalet; kicking back to relax in the campground; enjoying the beautiful sand beach; and taking to the greens on our 18-hole championship golf course, are just a few samplings of things to do while visiting this paradise of nature.

Bucks Pocket State Park is located within 30 minutes of Guntersville by following Alabama Highway 227 South towards Grove Oak. Follow the brown State Park signs to the park. Here one will enjoy hiking trails, majestic views from scenic overlooks into a deep canyon, fly fishing from the banks of Town Creek, and much more.
High Falls Park is located in the Northwest corner of DeKalb County in Geraldine and is within 30 minutes of Guntersville State Park. It is easily found by following Alabama Highway 227 South. A green sign marks the entrance to this amazing day use park with stunning waterfalls. Enthusiasts will enjoy whitewater rafting and fly fishing from Town Creek, hiking, and spectacular scenery.
Cathedral Caverns State Park is one of the finest show caves in the United States. Cathedral Caverns is located within 40 minutes of Guntersville State Park by following AL Hwy. 227 North to Hwy. 431 North. Turn right off of 431 at the brown State Park sign in Grant.
Huntsville Area Attractions are within 1 hour of Guntersville State Park. They include the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Early Works, Sci-Quest, Monte Sano State Park, the Burritt Museum and much more. Follow Alabama Highway 227 North to Highway 431 North into Huntsville.
