75th Anniversary Diamond Treasure Geocaching Challenge at Chewacla State Park
Kicked off March 1st!

The Alabama State Parks has designed a geocaching challenge to help celebrate our 75th Anniversary this year.  We hope this challenge will add another level of excitement to an already popular past time among our park “partners”.

Preliminary events were held on February 28, 2014 from 7pm – 9pm., with a “meet and greet” at “Good Ole Boys” Restaurant in Auburn, Alabama.

The Challenge for the 75th Anniversary Diamond Treasure Geocaching Challenge incudes 8 State Parks. These coordinates inside the Parks were announced on March 1st. Each cache provided a clue, and after the cachers visit all 8 Parks they will combine the clues to determine where the final cache is located. A special 75th Anniversary commemorative coin will be awarded to the first 75 contestants to complete the challenge. There will be 75 winners only.

This challenge is separate from the normal geocaching challenge that involves all 22 state parks. Both challenges will be in effect for 2014.
