lgsp campfire talk

Have you ever heard a strange screaming noise in the woods late a night, or heard something cooing outside your house but never been able to spot it? It was probably an owl! These mostly nocturnal birds are quite the interesting species. Join the Park Naturalist for a presentation on the owl species we have in Alabama and learn what makes these birds of prey so special!

Alabama is home to 7 species of owl, but only 3 reside at Lake Guntersville State Park. They all have those strange features that make people question: can they turn their heads all the way around, do they have ears, can they fly silently? All and more of these questions will be answered during this talk!

The Outdoor Classroom offers bench seating, but you are welcome to bring your lawn chair if you would like to be a little more comfortable!

Date: July 22nd, 2023
