The Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has announced that state lakes will resume their normal operating schedule on February 1, 2003. The lakes will operate during daylight hours six days a week.
The Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries manages 23 public fishing lakes in 20 counties. Lakes are closed during the months of December and January.
Anglers 12 years or older must have a valid fishing permit in possession to fish, and those 16-65 must have a valid fishing license as well.
