Outdoor Alabama Magazine Receives National Honors

Outdoor Alabama magazine recently received third place honors in a national competition among natural resource agencies. The Association for Conservation Information, a professional organization of communicators who promote conservation, presented the awards at their annual meeting in Ogden, Utah in July. Outdoor Alabama received third place in both the magazine and calendar categories.

“It’s truly an honor to be chosen as one of the top three state agency magazines in the nation,” said Managing Editor Kim Nix. “We strive to provide quality content and photographs for our readers.”

Additionally, a brochure about the magazine called “Outdoor Alabama: Discover the Wonder,” received third place in the brochure category. An article by Eric Soehren entitled “Symbol of Elegance: The Swallow-tailed Kite” received a Special Award in the wildlife magazine article category.
