Union Grove Teen Attends Boys State

Adam Clemons, a rising senior at A.P. Brewer High School, was one of two Boys State participants who recently visited the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. He met with wildlife and fisheries biologists, conservation enforcement officers, and other Conservation employees to learn about the Department’s programs and responsibilities.

Boys State is a program where each participant becomes a part of the operation of his local, county and state government. Each year boys from cities and towns across Alabama come to the State Capitol in Montgomery to learn about state government and visit state agencies.

Adam, 17, the son of Byron and Connie Clemons of Union Grove, plans to pursue a career in mechanical engineering. Of Boys State, he says, “It was a great opportunity for me to learn how our local and state government functions. It will increase my involvement in politics and in my area government.”
