Outdoor Alabama Receives National Awards

The Association of Conservation Information (ACI) recently honored the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) with two awards. ACI, a national conservation communication organization, presented the awards at their annual meeting in Louisville, Ky.

For the second year in a row the ADCNR website, outdooralabama.com, won first place in the conservation agency website category. The 2010 Outdoor Alabama calendar, designed by OA Art Director Billy Pope, placed second in the calendar category. The calendar is produced annually as part of Outdoor Alabama magazine. Yearly subscriptions are available for $8. Visit www.outdooralabama.com/outdoor-alabama/ for more details.

“We are extremely proud to have received these awards from our peers in ACI,” said Kim Nix, ADCNR Information and Education Section Chief. “When you see the excellent quality of all of the informational products created by agencies across the nation, to be recognized in this way is truly an honor.”

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources promotes wise stewardship, management and enjoyment of Alabama’s natural resources through five divisions:  Marine Police, Marine Resources, State Lands, State Parks, and Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries.  To learn more about ADCNR, visit www.outdooralabama.com .
