Prescribed Burns Planned at Two Alabama State Parks in February

The Alabama State Parks Division will burn up to 235 acres at Wind Creek State Park, in Alexander City, Ala., for fuel hazard reduction and wildlife habitat improvement in seven separate burn compartments during February 2011. State Parks Division personnel will be assisted by staff and equipment from the Alabama Forestry Commission and the Alexander City Fire Department.
The Alabama State Parks Division will also burn up to 205 acres at Chewacla State Park in Auburn, Ala., for fuel hazard reduction and wildlife habitat improvement in five separate burn compartments sometime during February 2011. State Parks Division personnel will be assisted by staff and equipment from the Alabama Forestry Commission and the Auburn Fire Department.
