Press Release

Lake Martin Boat Ramps Reopened

April 29, 2011

The Alabama Conservation and Natural Resources Commissioner has reopened all ADCNR boat ramps on Lake Martin. Alabama Power Company has also reopened their boat ramps.

Commissioner N. Gunter Guy Jr. cautioned boaters to watch for debris in the water as there are still large pieces floating in the lake. “We don’t want to impede anyone’s enjoyment of the water, but they need to exercise caution when boating on the lake,” he said. Marine Police and other ADCNR law enforcement will continue to have an increased presence in the area to monitor boating safety and any suspicious activity.

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources promotes wise stewardship, management and enjoyment of Alabama’s natural resources through five divisions: Marine Police, Marine Resources, State Lands, State Parks, and Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries.
