Take advantage of the discount being offered by some parks on lodge hotel rooms the weekend they are hosting a birthday party. Seven weeks of 70th birthday celebrations at seven Alabama State Parks. Don’t miss the Grand Finale Event at Lake Guntersville State Park on November 20, 2009.

10-9-09 Cathedral Caverns 11a.m. – 1 p.m. Alabama’s newest State Park! Birthday Party with cake and ice Cream. DJ with karaoke and a special afternoon tour of the cave.
10-16-09 Lakepoint Resort 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. Alabama’s newest renovated State Park Lodge! Free cake and ice cream for those dining at the Lodge Restaurant with live entertainment 6 p.m. till 9 p.m.. A 30 % discount on lodge hotel rooms on October 16th & 17th.
10-22-09 Wind Creek State Park 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. The largest state operated modern campground in the United States! Cake and ice cream in the playground area from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a DJ and karaoke.
10-29-09 Oak Mountain State Park 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Alabama’s largest State Park! A birthday celebration at the Oak Mountain Golf Course Pro Shop.
11-6-09 Joe Wheeler State 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. A historic park named after Confederate General Joe Wheeler! A birthday celebration on the terrace at the beautiful Joe Wheeler State Park Lodge. Cake, ice cream, party favors and a DJ providing music make this party a guaranteed success. Boaters are welcome, just drive up and tie up! A 30% discount will be available on lodge hotel rooms on Friday, Nov. 6th & Saturday, Nov. 7th.
11-12-09 DeSoto State Park 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Known as “Home to Mother Nature.” A special buffet will be available this evening for those dining at the park. Cake and ice cream will be provided with special music at the Restaurant. 30% discount on lodge hotel rooms the day of the event.
11-19-09 Cheaha State Park 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Alabama’s Highest Point. Bald Rock Lodge. This party will take place at the Bald Rock Lodge with food being served at 6:30 and cake and ice cream to follow. Live band will be on hand to provide the music. Don’t miss this one!
11-20-09 Lake Guntersville 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. The “Crown Jewel” of current State Park Alabama State Parks! This party will take place in the Grandview Ball Room with heavy hors d’oeuvres being served at 6:30 and the birthday party to begin at 7:30. Entertainment will be provided by Promotions Director, Randy Jinks.
