Photography Rules and Regulations
Thank you for choosing to take your professional photographs at our park. We have put these rules in place to help benefit all licensed photographers and business owners, and to help the Park maintain and protect our natural habitat. We want everyone to enjoy the Park and have a great working relationship with us. If any of the following rules are violated, a fine or loss of photography privileges will be revoked:

  • All photographers/videographers for hire on any property of Gulf State Park’s must have a business license and provide this to our Headquarters office upon payment to receive a permit.
  • The cost for a one day permit is $25. The cost for a yearly permit is $150. Yearly permits are valid for one year from the date of purchase.
  • Upon payment and receipt of your business license, you will receive a lanyard and a permit in the mail. You may also arrange to pick up your permit at Park Headquarters. Your permit and ID must be on you at all times when shooting at the Park.
  • Payment can be taken by credit card over the phone, or by cash/check in person at our Headquarters office. An appointment is required if paying in person.
  • Each photography permit is good only for the person listed. If there are multiple shooters associated with your business, you will need to acquire a permit for each one shooting at the Park. There are group rates available for businesses with more than 1 shooter. Contact us for details.
  • State Park property consists of anything from the last pink condo on the beach in Gulf Shores to the sign on the beach that says “Thank You for Visiting Gulf State Park”, or the first yellow condo in Orange Beach. This includes the Pier and the Beach Pavilion.  Access areas in Orange Beach include Romar Beach, Cotton Bayou, Alabama Point East and West, and the Shell Lot across from Caribe.
  • No one is allowed to take photographs in the dunes other than at the locations that have been designated by Gulf State Park.  There are designated areas at the Pier and Pavilion. See maps below.
