Guided Backpacking Trip for Beginners

Have you always wanted to get into backpacking? Here is a great way to start!
Learn all you need to know so that you can head out on your own outdoor adventure! A fall backpacking class, and a great class for beginners/intermediate.
Topics to learn: backpacking essentials, camping items to choose and use, fire building, cooking, etiquettes, pitching and striking camp, setting up a tent or hammock, and more! Hiking is moderate, about a mile one-way to backpacking campsite. Sign up for this fun trip soon!
Date: October 6-8, 2018 (2-night class)
Time: check in 9 AM on 6th; check out the morning of October 8th
Where: DeSoto State Park, Fort Payne, Alabama. Meet at DeSoto’s Nature Center, next to the Country Store on County Road 89.
Cost: $100 per person (2 night trip) - includes all equipment. You will need to provide your food. If you want to register as a family call for special prices. Discounts if you have your own backpacking equipment.
