Welcome to the new Alabama State Parks Explorer! As we celebrate our 75th year of service, we are proud to launch this new venture to help us share information about our parks with you. This column will feature a wide range of articles to include event announcements, details from parks history, stories from our parks staff, articles about our beautiful and diverse landscapes, and much more. We hope the posts in the coming months will inspire you to visit one (or many) of our great parks that can be found from the foothills of the Appalachians to the shores of the Gulf of Mexico.
As we launch Parks Explorer to go along with our newly redesigned website, we want to take a moment to introduce you to the many ways you can connect with our parks on the web. We have a new social directory that provides information about how you can connect with each of our parks on social media. We encourage you to like each of our Facebook pages, and follow us on Twitter and Instagram to see what is happening in each of our parks.
We also want to thank you for your support of our parks! Many of you may have seen signs throughout the parks declaring “Partners Pay the Way”, but did you realize that you are one of those partners? To those who have reserved campsites, cabins, chalets, cottages, and lodge rooms, thank you. To those who have paid an entry fee to spend the day exploring a park hiking, biking, horseback riding, or kayaking, thank you. To those who have shared your great experiences in the parks with family, friends and neighbors, thank you. The list of ways that you support our parks could continue, but please know that we truly appreciate your partnership, and we look forward to seeing you in the parks!
We are excited to share our many parks with you through Parks Explorer. Be on the lookout for new posts twice each month, and be sure to sign up for email updates. In the meantime, GO EXPLORE!
