Serious Skills Series: Making Outdoor Lotion

Hosted by DeSoto State Park. The Serious Skills series is a variety of classes and workshops that provide opportunities to discover a hidden talent or learn a new skill for personal enrichment. Classes are open to local residents, overnight guests and park visitors.

Join Robert Wilson “The Traveling Herbalist” from Seven Pines Survival for a class on making your own outdoor lotion to help protect you from the sun, insects, and poison ivy made from different types of wild plants that can be harvested throughout the year. We will go over the plants, how to harvest them ethically, what they are used for, and how to process them to add to our lotion.  You will get to take home some for yourself and learn how to make this for yourself or to sell to others.
