Gulf State Park Beach Wedding Permits
Planning a beach wedding at Gulf State Park?
A permit is required for anyone having their wedding on the beach at Gulf State Park.
All beach property from Gulf State Park Pier in Gulf Shores to Shell Beach in Orange Beach is either the property of Gulf State Park or private property. For private beach locations (in front of condos, hotels, businesses, etc), please contact the property owner for individual permit requirements. Otherwide a Gulf State Park beach wedding permit is required.
As of November 1st 2017 Alabama Point East and Cotton Bayou are the only beach access points that can be used for a beach wedding unless you are working with one of our approved wedding planners. Our approved wedding planners each have an assigned boardwalk at one of our beach access points. Please see our beach wedding map for more information.
To obtain a beach wedding permit for Alabama Point East or Cotton Bayou please call (251)948-7275 dial 9 and then extension 2127 Monday through Friday at least a week in advance.

To process a beach wedding permit we will need to know the date/time of cermony, names, approximate number of guests and planner/officiant.
A permit is required for all beach weddings. The cost is $60 and can be obtained up until a week before the ceremony . We are unable to process last minute permits so please plan ahead.
Permits may be purchased up to one year in advance.
The following are not allowed on the beach, or in parking lot: setting up right in front of a boardwalk (you must be 40 feet to the left or the right of a boardwalk), fire or fireworks of any type (includes sparklers), alcohol, glass containers, loud music, motorized vehicles on beach, foot traffic in sand dunes, cooking, or animals.
The area is open to the public. Several weddings may be going on at one time on the beach. No area is reserved with a permit. If you are having a wedding, please note that we do not designate a certain area for yours. It is handled on a first come, first serve basis.
Throws need to be biodegradable (flowers, bird seed, or bubbles). Chinese wishing lanterns (or any decoration being sent off in the air or water) are not allowed.
Items placed on beach must be removed promptly after ceremony.
The area closes at sundown.
