Cheaha State Park’s “Mike Bosarge Memorial Dog Park” ribbon cutting on September 29, 2018 at 3:00 pm CDT. There will be treats and goodies for the first 100 doggies who visit this special bark park. Located across from Bunker Tower. Special thanks to the Bosarge Family for making this possible. Gate Fee is $5 per human adult; $2 per human child (over 5-12 years); Veterans and Doggies: free admission.

Although we mourn the loss of Mike Bosarge, we celebrate his passion for life, his generosity in helping others, his kindness toward rescue dogs, his amazing talent as a photographer, and his love for Cheaha State Park.

Michael James Bosarge, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. He is preceded in death by his father, James Irvin Bosarge. Michael was a Licensed Practical Nurse and had been employed at Alta Pointe for over 12 years. He was an aspiring photographer and owned Gatorbait Photography. He was an avid baseball fan especially, the University of South Alabama Jags and the Mobile Bay Bears. Michael is survived by his mother, Evelyn Sue Garron and step-father, Donald Garron, sisters; Deirdre Ann Gary, Suzanne Guy (Warren), Mary Ray (Steven) and brother, Scott Bosarge (Karie). He is also survived by his nephews; Jadon Guy, Chris and Taylor Gary, Peyton Ray, Miles and Ellis Bosarge and niece, Gemma Bosarge and his beloved canine companions, Kylee and Jelly Bean. The family would like to express their appreciation for the love and friendship shown by his co-workers at Alta Pointe, whom Michael loved dearly. Memorial donations may be offered to the Animal Rescue Foundation of Mobile, AL. “ When you are born, they give you a birth certificate. When you die, they give you a death certificate.
