The next OUTDOOR ALABAMA EXPERIENCE is scheduled for April 12-14 at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, AL.
- Provide all participant information and register each member of your group for their classes. (Tip: go ahead and make a note of the classes each person wants to take to help guide you through the sign-up process. Click here for a list of course offerings). Keep in mind that any participant under the age of 14 must have adult supervision during all activities and classes. Classes are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Complete registration payment. The cost is $100 for base family registration (good for 2 people) plus $25 for each additional participant. Registration payment must be completed in order for class registration to be finalized. If you do not complete payment, you will lose your places in the classes. Registration fee includes all meals, participant t-shirt, weekend instruction, and more for all family participants.
- Make your reservation for a campsite at Oak Mountain State Park. Campground reservation phone number and discount code will be provided for you once registration payment is received. We hope you will choose to stay with us in the park, but please know it is not a requirement of the program. If you have never camped before, there will be plenty of staff available to assist your family with campsite set-up and any questions you may have. There are also very limited tents and other camping equipment available for loan if necessary. Please indicate your interest in the registration process if you are in need of borrowing equipment.
OUTDOOR ALABAMA EXPERIENCE: CONNECTING FAMILIES TO THE OUTDOORS
Outdoor Alabama Experience is a weekend workshop full of opportunities to learn about many of the great ways your family can enjoy Alabama's beautiful outdoors! The program is designed for families, and all experience levels are welcomed! A program hosted by the Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries and State Parks Divisions of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the workshop features hands-on learning about camping, hiking, biking, wildlife watching, shooting sports, fishing, hunting, kayaking, and more!
