MONTHLY BOOKINGS FOR NOVEMBER 2021-MARCH 2022 UPDATE:
Another important update is about the call date for making monthly reservations for November 2021 - March 2022. The originally scheduled call date of November 1, 2020 has been postponed until December 1, 2020. More information about the process for making next year’s monthly winter reservations will follow, but please note that no monthly reservations will be made over the phone or in person on November 1 as originally scheduled. This change is to help us best serve all campers as we work to reopen the campground. Staff have been diligently working to ensure the campground can reopen as soon as possible, and we feel we can best serve you by making this change to the call date.

We are not allowing any new reservations through October 31. We are doing this so we can best ensure priority to guests with existing bookings in case some campsites must remain out of order through the month of October. Teams are on site assessing and repairing damages and we are hopeful to welcome you to the campground as originally scheduled. We do not yet have a confirmed reopening date, but will continue providing updates. Stay tuned to this FB page and we will provide as much detail as possible about specific areas/loops in the campground.

Thank you for your patience as we work to provide refunds for your cancelled campground reservations (9/15 -10/2) due to Hurricane Sally. Please do not be alarmed if you have not received your refunds, or if you are contacted by park staff about the refunds. We are presently assessing damage to the campground’s infrastructure, and how this may affect future reservations that have already been made. At this time we do not have a confirmed reopening date, but it may be in late October and we will continue to provide weekly updates on the status. Because of the uncertainty in the re-opening schedule, we will not be taking any new reservations for our Campground for the month of October until further notice. Please stay tuned to this FB page for updates on refunds, cancellations and future reservations.

Hurricane Sally quickly wore out her welcome along the coast and Gulf State Park took a devastating hit this morning as she lingered along our beautiful beaches as a Category 2 storm. During the storm and then throughout the day, our staff surveyed the damage within the Park. The Lodge suffered minimal damage, but the rest of the park was not so lucky. Our newly renovated pier that was scheduled to open this week was severely damaged as wave action knocked out numerous sets of pilings between the “T” and the end of the Pier.
The storm surge then continued to push into the park throughout the day, making most of the park roads and the entire campground impassible due to flooding.
