Eagle Awareness Weekends
Eagle Awareness Overview
Eagle Awareness turns 35 years old this year at Lake Guntersville State Park. What began as an initiative to pull the bald eagle from the brink of extinction has developed into much more. Eagle Awareness Weekends feature live bird demonstrations and programs provided by notable speakers, guided field trips for viewing eagles in their natural habitat, and the natural beauty of the mountains and Lake Guntersville. Each year we welcome up to 300 guests to experience the history, nature, and education of these majestic eagles and many other birds of prey and critters. Exclusive deals are offered each year during Eagle Awareness weekends that are included with lodging. These deals include: a welcome packet, VIP access to presentations, discounts at the restaurant and gift shop, photo opportunities with birds of prey, activities for children, engagement with featured sponsors, one-on-one access with the naturalist and naturalist assistant, and educational memories that last for a lifetime. It's no wonder that these weekends are the perfect gift for the one that has "everything". Gift certificates are available for all state parks.
