Chewacla Lake

Chewacla State Park Lake

Chewacla offers a 26-acre lake fed by Moore's Mill Creek.

SWIMMING

The lake at Chewacla State Park is open year-round for swimmers. It is swimming at your own risk, as there are no lifeguards on duty. Inside the roped-off area, you will find a high-dive platform.

FISHING

Chewacla Lake is teeming with Largemouth Bass, Crappie, and several species of Catfish and Sunfish. Fishing is allowed with an Alabama Fishing License, and guests must follow the general Alabama Fishing Regulations. There is no ramp to the water, and gas-powered boats are not allowed. Purchase a fishing license here.

BOATING

Small personal watercraft that can be carried down to the water, such as canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards, are welcome. Due to the lake's small size, no gas-powered boats are allowed.
