Snake Tales

Did you know that from the northern mountains to the sandy shores, Alabama is home to over fifty species of snakes? Despite being vital to our state's ecosystem, these scaly creatures are often misunderstood and feared. Join DeSoto State Park Naturalist Brittney Hughes along with a few scaly creature teachers to turn fears into fascination.

Learn about the different snake species of NE Alabama, both venomous and nonvenomous. Plus, gain valuable knowledge on how to tell the difference between the two.
