Lake Lurleen State Park is named after Alabama’s only female governor. Lurleen Wallace, the wife of former Governor George C. Wallace, was a native of Tuscaloosa County. As Governor she was instrumental in funding a major renovation project of Alabama State Parks.
Lake Lurleen State Park is located 9 miles Northwest of the cities of Tuscaloosa and Northport, Alabama and is 14 miles from the campus of the University of Alabama, home of the “Crimson Tide.”
The 1,625-acre park is a scenic lakeside retreat set on the banks of a 250-acre lake. Facilities include a modern campground, banquet room, picnic area, play area, pavilions, beach with bathhouse, fishing piers, boat rentals and boat-launch areas.

OFFICE HOURS: 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. Monday-Friday (Except Holidays)
ENTRANCE STATION HOURS: December 1st - March 1st (Winter Season)
(No Attendant on Duty)
Customers must use the HONOR SYSTEM for PARK ENTRANCE FEES and CAMPING FEES (Monitored Regularly)
DAY USE ENTRANCE FEE:
Adults (12 years - 61 years of age): $3
Children 6 to 11 years of age: $1
Seniors 62 years of age and older: $1
Children under 6 years of age: FREE
PARK CLOSES AT SUNSET TO ALL DAY USE PARK GUESTS
Day use entrance fee includes park entrance, picnicking, fishing, boat launching, multi-trail use, and swimming.
A State fishing license is required to fish, and is available for purchase at the park.
