Native Habitat Restoration Crew

Habitat Restoration Working Group at Chewacla State Park

The Alabama State Parks Native Habitat Restoration Crew is proud to partner with STIHL to eradicate invasive plant species from our parks in an effort to improve native habitats. This is a vital task as good stewards of our lands for future generations. Stay tuned for more planned workdays here at the park this Fall.

Thanks to Chewacla Invasive Plant Working Group for being a great community partner and organizing these events.

The Hearts of STIHL grants are awarded to support programs that prioritize responsible forest management practices, sustainability, conservation and environmental education programs. The grants are managed through the America’s State Parks Foundation and awarded to state parks in six regions of the U.S. – southeast, northeast, central, north central, northwest and southwest.
