Year of Alabama Birding: Bird Watching Wednesdays

If you're curious about nature and want to learn more about wildlife, birding is a great skill and a fun hobby. When you start to take note of the birds around you, you might find yourself more perceptive of other things. You might notice sounds you previously overlooked and small details in your surroundings, like individual trees, insects, fruits, and flowers. You might find yourself more in tune with the passing of the seasons.

Birding can be a gateway into recognizing and appreciating a wider world that was there all along.

Join Park Naturalist, Dylan Ogle, for a guided birding walk, in the forests and fields at Wind Creek State Park, and along the shoreline of Lake Martin.

When: Every Wednesday (Year July 2023-July 2024)

Time: 10:00 am – Noon CDT

Where: Meet at the Wind Creek State Park Clubhouse (in Campground Area)

Fee: Free with paid park admission or overnight stay
