Guided Park Tours

The Park Naturalist will join your group on your bus for an engaging guided tour of Lake Guntersville State Park. Hear stories, see highlights, and gain insider knowledge as your group explores the park!

Guided Paddles

Groups of up to 24 can join the Naturalist on a 2-hour guided kayak/canoe trip on Town Creek while learning about the history of the area and the park and watching for wildlife species in the water, woods, and sky!

Program participants are more than welcome to bring their own kayaks, canoes, or paddle boards. Life jackets and paddles are not provided to participants who bring their own vessels; however, life jackets are required on-board for every person in the vessel.

Lake Guntersville State Park has a limited number of single kayaks, tandem kayaks, and canoes available for rent for these programs. Rental vessels include a paddle and life jacket for each person on-board.

Signature Experience: Eagle Awareness

One of the park's most celebrated features soars high above the rest - our bald eagle population. Thanks to ongoing conservation efforts, Alabama's nesting bald eagles are thriving, and Lake Guntersville State Park serves as a key location for Eagle Awareness.

From December to February, book a private group program to learn about our once-endangered national symbol through educational talks and opportunities to view these majestic birds in their natural habitat.

Signature Experience: History on Horseback

Horseback groups of up to 20 are invited to join the Naturalist on a private three-hour guided trail ride along the Culbert-Bain Equestrian Trails! This unique program offers a glimpse into what life was like for the first settlers to the Guntersville area in the 1800s. Visit home sites and other historic locations while enjoying the serenity of our 18-mile network of horse trails along Town Creek.

Horses are NOT provided for this program. Proof of current negative coggins is required for every horse on-site.
