The Alabama State Parks supports the Girl Scouts of America. Everything Girl Scouts do builds their curiosity, kindness, and can-do spirit. And as they earn badges, help their community, and deepen their friendships, they’ll also have a blast along the way. It’s what Girl Scouting is all about. This dedication matches well with the mission of the Alabama State Parks and we are proud to call them partners.
Every year, Girl Scouts explore the natural wonders found across our country during the Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend. Girl Scouts nationwide, along with their troops, friends, and families, celebrate our shared love of the outdoors.
Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend is on September 10 and 11 this year. Grab your backpack and head out to your local state parks for self-guided tours, family hikes, watersports, stargazing, special events, and more!
As we get closer to September we will feature each "Love Your State Parks" events planned in our parks.
To learn more about the educational and overnight opportunities for Girls Scouts within the Alabama State Parks system please email Renee Raney, our Educational Coordinator.
Our park naturalists have a common bond with Girl Scouts and they are often together during our planned Girl Scout events. Check out the videos below that feature our park naturalists.
