Short Creek is one of the best birding spots at Lake Guntersville State Park. The inlet provides shallow waters for watching herons and egrets wade through the water and fish. The tall pine and hardwood trees that surround the water are home to any species of warblers, sparrows, and woodpeckers, join the Park Naturalist along a shoreline stroll to spot some of these beautiful creatures and learn how to identify them by sound!

Binoculars are not required, but will benefit your experience!

Download the Merlin Bird ID app, and you will get a chance to learn how to use it to identify birds by sound!
