Cave Tour FAQ

**In preparation for "Wonderland Under Warrior" the regular cave tours will be closed 11/14/20 through 11/20/20.  Our holiday event will begin on 11/21/20!**

  • Day of reservations will be taken for our holiday event. There are limited spots for each time slot. Time slots are every 25 minutes starting at 2pm and ending at 7:25pm. 

  • Masks are REQUIRED inside buildings and throughout the cave

 

Cave Tour Information 

Masks are required for guests to go through the cave.  We appreciate your understanding!

New Policies and Procedures

Tour Schedule:

Tours will be scheduled for 10AM, 12PM, 2PM, and 4PM. Tours may be added based on demand. Same day tour reservations will be available by phone. Nonrefundable full payment will be required at the time of phone reservation. Tour prices are $18 for ages 12 years and up, $9 for ages 5-11, and 4-Under there is no charge. Please call 205-647-9692 for same day tour reservations. Those with reservations will need to check in at least 15 minutes prior for scheduled tour.

In Person Ticket Purchases:

Tickets will be purchased through the side window of the Welcome Center. Direction and signage are provided for guidance.

Tour Capacity Limit:

Tours will be limited to 10 guests per tour. There may be exceptions made for family units.

Social Distancing:

Park guests are required to maintain a social distance of 6 feet, unless you are in the same family unit.

Limited Capacity in Park Buildings:

Capacity limits will be posted on park facilities and those guidelines must be followed as safety precautions.

Personal Protection Equipment:

We recommend park guests bring their own mask to wear. Hand sanitizing stations will be offered at designated locations throughout the cave. Please remember clean hands are very important to keep park guests and employees safe.

Designated Sanitation Crew:

We will have designated staff members to disinfect areas of the park frequently for everyone’s safety.

Employee Requirements:

Employees will be provided personal protection equipment and hand sanitizer. Employees will wear appropriate PPE when necessary for the assigned work duties.

Tour Admission Fee (January-November)

  • Age 12 and up: $18.00

  • Age 5 to 11: $9.00

  • Under Age 5: FREE with parent or guardian

 

Cave Hours: 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm daily

Note:  For your safety and convenience, access to the cave is available only with a tour guide.  Be advised the cave tour is one mile long with 110 steps to exit at the end.  It stays a comfortable 62 degrees in the cave all year long.  Virtual reality tours are available for anyone unable to walk through the cave.  

 

Virtual Reality Cave Tour

For those guest unable to walk through the cave we offer a VR Cave Tour. The tour is guided by one of the original boy scouts who helped develop the cave. This experience is free and subject to availability. 

CAMPING AND CAVE TOUR PACKAGE 

  • With at least one night of camping a discounted cave admission for all adults (age 12 and older) of $13.00 and for children (5-11) $8.00 
  • Package availability subject to cave operating schedule.

 

GROUP CAVE TOURS

  • Special groups of 20 or more (school, civic, commercial organizations, etc) during seasonal tour schedule can be arranged by appointment.
  • Call the park office at 205-647-9692 year-round.
  • Group discounts are $8.00 per child for the cave tour or $12.00 for cave tour and gem mining
  • Adults are $13.00 for the cave tour 
  • Teachers are free (one teacher per class)
