Camping
Nestled in a large cul-de-sac that borders Beaver Lake and surrounded by rolling hills topped with the long-lived and majestic Longleaf Pines, our campground is a favorite spot for families to get away from the hustle and bustle of the modern world. The campground is open for camping year-round.
BSA and BAC reservations should be made by calling the Campground at #205.620.2520 (Ext. 1).
The North gate closes daily at sunset, and guests will need to utilize the South gate to enter and exit the park.

Campground Amenities
- 30/50 Amp Service
- RV sites with Water, Electricity, & Sewer Available, along with RV sites with only Water & Electricity
- Primitive Tent Sites with water in the area
- Primitive Tent sites with Water & Electricity
- Picnic Table, Tent Pad, Grill, Lantern Hook, and Fire Rings are located at all sites
- 2 bath houses, and an additional restroom located beside the playground and dog park

- Dogs are allowed in the Park, but must be on a leash no longer than 6ft; however, they are not allowed in any building, or beach area. You must clean up after them & keep them quiet during quiet hours.

Reservations
- To make a Reservation, call 205-620-2527 or use the online portal at http://reserve.alapark.com
- A full payment will be charged to a credit card on all reservations.
- Cancellations must be made 72 hours before noon the day of arrival, with a refund of all paid fees except the $5.25 reservation fee. If not, the full cost of your rental will be forfeited.
- Weekends require a 2-night minimum reservation.
- Major holidays require a 3-night minimum reservation.
- You must be 18 years old or older to rent a campsite.
Check-in for campground reservations is 2 p.m.

Sunday - Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Our Country Store keeps in stock those items you forgot, as well as a line of camper supplies. We also carry snack items, gifts, and T-shirts. Firewood is available for purchase at the Campground Store. We are open seven days a week, although our hours of operation vary seasonally.

Registration
- Backcountry sites accommodate up to 8 persons.
- Each party is also required to purchase a trail map for $1.00
- Backcountry sites are reserved by phone only at #205-620-2527.
- All backpackers must register and pay backpacking fees at least one hour before sunset at the campground office. No one will be allowed to register or start on the trail system any later. Sunset times change with the seasons, so plan your arrival accordingly.
- Backpacking Sites will not be rented if the weather is inclement. This decision is at the discretion of the camp store staff. NO backcountry sites are rented in inclement weather.
- Vehicles must be parked at a designated trailhead with a vehicle pass displayed in the windshield. The two designated parking areas at backcountry sites are the north trailhead and the parking area at Group Camp Road.
- Backpackers who leave the park after closing hours will not be re-admitted.
- Please make sure all doors are locked before leaving your vehicle. Valuables left in vehicles should be placed out of sight. Oak Mountain State Park is not responsible for stolen or damaged property.
- Check-out time is 11 a.m. Campers MUST have checked in at the Camp Store by 4:30 p.m.
- Drinking water should be packed in or filtered through a portable filtration system. Most streams in Oak Mountain State Park are wet-weather streams (meaning we recommend taking water because there may not be any).
- Carry out all cans, bottles, aluminum foil, or other trash. THE BURNING OR BURYING OF TRASH IS PROHIBITED SINCE ANIMALS WILL DIG IT UP.
- Backing type stoves (Butane, propane, etc.) are recommended for cooking.
- FIRES ARE PROHIBITED IN THE BACKCOUNTRY AT ALL TIMES.
- Each backcountry site is marked on the trail with a brown carbonite marker showing the site number. You can set up your campsite anywhere within 100 yards of the marker.
- Pets are allowed under the Alabama State Park Regulations
- Pets & Animals (220-5-.05) Bringing a dog, cat, or other animal into a State Park unless it is crated, caged, or upon a leash not longer than 6 feet or otherwise under physical restrictive control at all times shall be unlawful.
- No person shall keep a noisy, vicious, or dangerous dog or animal or one that is disturbing other persons in a State Park and remain therein after he has been asked by a Park Officer to leave.
Camping

Camping rates based on:
- Two tents and one RV per campsite
- 8 individuals per site
- 17% tax will be added to all nightly rates
- 3.75% Resort Fee
- Tent Sites must have a tent or hammock. No car camping is allowed on tent sites; you must have a camping unit.
- RV sites must be occupied by an RV or a tent. No car camping is allowed on RV sites.
- All sites must be occupied immediately upon check-in
- Only one extra tent for dependent children under the age of 18 can be erected for an additional $6 per night
- All tent sites are walk-in sites. You will have a designated parking spot for each tent site.
- Primitive sites will have shared water spickets.
Equestrian Camping
The Equestrian campground is nestled within the 11,861 acres of Oak Mountain State Park.
It has 12 sites; Each site will accommodate a maximum of eight persons with two vehicles, and one trailer.
Horse Stalls are available for your horses! You must book your stall through the Rusted Roof Barn by calling #205-253-1299. There is a nightly stall fee. The fee will be charged per night. A roof has been installed over the stalls, thanks to a grant awarded to the Central Alabama Chapter of the Backcountry Horsemen of America! You must reserve your stalls before arriving at the park. Shavings for the stalls must be provided by the guest, and only small to medium shavings are allowed.

Equestrian Campground Amenities:
- All sites have 50-amp service, water, and sewer hookups, a dump station for horse waste, fire rings, and picnic tables.
- Water hydrants are now located at the horse stalls.
- "Traveling Campers" are welcome to occupy these sites.
- Registration can be made upon arrival at the front gate of Oak Mountain State Park.
- Current Negative Coggins are required to enter the park.
Group Camping
Additionally, we offer a group camp facility for Scout Troops, church groups, and many other groups.
SECURITY
Oak Mountain State Park has a friendly, courteous staff that strives to make you feel at home during your stay. Also, as a family-oriented campground, we have our Law Enforcement Rangers and security personnel conduct regular patrols to ensure the safety of our guests. The park closes one hour before sunset, and the entrance gate is manned 24 hours a day to ensure guests’ security. Only registered guests are allowed into the park during these hours. Park Quiet Hours are enforced between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
