Alabama Wildlife Center

The Alabama Wildlife Center is Alabama's oldest and largest wildlife rehabilitation and education center. From it's humble beginnings in the back yard of founder Anne Miller to the mountain top refuge it is today, AWC has pioneered life saving rehabilitation practices and delivered life changing educational programs.

AWC rescues, rehabilitates, and releases almost 2,000 native birds every year! Patients include everything from tiny Ruby-throated Hummingbirds to Large Bald Eagles and everything in-between. The center also presents over 400 educational programs each year to audiences of over 100,000 Alabamians. While you are visiting be sure to visit Shelby the Bald Eagle and the Eurasian Eagle Owl, the worlds largest owl species!
