Canceled Waterfall Tour and Lunch with a VIEW!
Due to concerns regarding COVID-19, officials from the Alabama State Parks division announced the cancellation of all public programs in state parks through April 6, 2020. As the coronavirus continues to spread, we want to assure our visitors that their health and safety is a primary concern. We are taking extra precaution by canceling group activities and encouraging social distancing in an effort to minimize the risk of exposure and spread of COVID-19, while still allowing visitors access to the recreation and beautiful outdoor places that can help their physical and mental health. During this time of social distancing, our goal at Alabama State Parks is to continue providing you and your families with fun, educational, and inspiring programs: online. We may not be able to gather together in groups, but we will be using technology to bring the fun to you and present creative things you can do outdoors! Waterfall Tour and Lunch with a VIEW!
Join Park Naturalist Mandy Pearson from Cheaha State Park and Joan Alexander from Anniston Outdoor Association (Cheaha VIP Volunteer) on a tour exploring Cheaha area waterfalls. Easy to moderate hikes on rocky dirt trails. We’ll see some locally famous waterfalls as well as some hidden treasures.
Things to bring: Plenty of water, snacks, hiking poles/staff (optional), sturdy shoes (open toe shoes, flipflops, etc. are not recommended). Please be sure to dress appropriately according to seasonal temperatures/weather.
WEATHER: As with all outdoor events, if it's raining/stormy or very poor trail conditions, we may have to cancel. If the weather is questionable, please check with Mandy (256) 412-9938 before leaving home.

Time: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm (CST); Lunch from Vista Cliffside Restaurant (sandwich/burger plate)
Location: Meet at Cheaha Mountain Store , then caravan to 6 waterfalls
Fee: $25 per person; PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED (Limit 20 participants).
