Campfire Talk: Civilian Conservation Corps: The Men Who Shaped a Nation

In the dark and trying times of The Great Depression, a shining ray of hope emerged through the creation of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). Young men from across the nation enrolled in the CCC in an effort to provide for their families, and in doing so, helped to release the country from the grip of economic ruin. With every tree they planted, every boulder they moved, and every road they carved, they restored a nation and left a legacy of hope and recreation that is still enjoyed today. Join Park Naturalist Mandy Pearson for a riveting tour through the history of the Civilian Conservation Corps and its lasting impact on Cheaha State Park.
