It's that time of year again!! Oak Mountain State Park will be hosting our annual Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Market on Saturday April 1st!

 

Bring your basket and be ready to have fun! We have OVER 20,000 FILLED eggs this year!

 

This year's Easter Egg Hunt will be located off of Terrace Drive in the Multi-use Field by the Discover Shelby Pavilion!

 

We will be celebrating and having a Hopping Good Time from 9am until 4pm on Saturday, April 1st! Everyone is Welcome!

 

Egg Hunts will be hosted for children Ages 0-12

Egg Hunt Times:

10AM- Ages 0-3

10:30AM- Ages 4-6

11AM- Ages 7-9

11:30AM- Ages 10-12

LUNCH BREAK

1PM- Ages 0-3

1:30PM- Ages 4-6

2PM- Ages 7-9

2:30PM- Ages 10-12

3PM- Easter Egg Hunt for our four-legged friends!

 

The Easter Bunny will be hopping around for pictures at no cost!

Easter Bunny Meet and Greet Times:

*The Bunny will be taking a few short breaks throughout these times to make sure he stays cool and comfortable; we thank you in advance for understanding*

 

The Marina will be open for you to rent kayaks, Canoes, and SUPs! Hit the water for a paddle and take in the gorgeous views of the lake from a different vantage point!

 

What does it cost? Regular Park Entrance Fees at Park Entrance. No additional fees to participate in the fun! Pets Welcome!

 

Regular Entrance Fees: Age 3 and under are free, Age 4-11 are $2 each, Age 12-61 are $5 each, and Age 62+ are $2 each *Military and Veterans FREE*

(Annual Passes are Valid)

(Gates take cash and card payments)

 

Parking is free and will be available along Terrace Drive. General Parking available in the Beach Parking Lot, the Main Office Parking Lot, and the Playground Parking Lot. ADA and Expectant Mother Parking available in the Boat Launch Parking Lot next to the field.

 

The Oak Mountain Interpretive Center is joining us with their Education Ambassadors!! Come and meet our slithery snakes, totally shell-tacular turtles, and many other native residents of Oak Mountain State Park! Learn about all the wildlife that call Oak Mountain State Park home and the Importance of Protecting their Habitats!

 

Our fantastic partners at the Alabama Wildlife Center will be at the Harvest Festival with a variety of their glove trained education raptors for you to meet! Get to know their feathered ambassadors and learn about the importance of supporting wildlife rehabilitation. Learn about the role the AWC plays in protecting Alabama’s Keystone avian species! They will be on site from 10am to 1pm!

 

The Rusted Roof Barn is brining some of their Rescue Horses to the festival for children ages 3 to 12 to enjoy rides for $5 (Cash only) from 9:45am to 2pm! Saddle up!

 

Learn to fish!! Our incredible partners at Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries are joining us again with rod/reel/and tackle to introduce you to fishing! To make sure everyone get a chance to participate we will have the "learn to fish" crew at the ADA Pier!

 

We will have TWO guided hikes! Join Kat at 10am to enjoy an incredible guided hike along the Lake Trail! Join the AWC at the Tree Top Nature Trail at Noon for a guided tour of the Mews and get to know the residents!

 

In addition to all of the fun activities we will have for you on April 1st during the Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Market, don't forget all of the exciting recreational opportunities we have throughout the park for you to enjoy!!

 

EXAMPLES: Hiking, Mountain Biking Trails, Road Biking, Flipside Watersports cable wake boarding/knee boarding/tubing, Kayak/Canoe/SUP/Peddle Boat Rentals, Alabama Wildlife Center, Tree Top Nature Trail, Oak Mountain Interpretive Center, BMX track, Peavine Falls, “The Oaks” 18-hole golf course and driving range, A Sandy beach and swimming area at Beaver Lake including a Volleyball court, Three fishing lakes, Oak Mountain’s demonstration farm, and The Rusted Roof Barn for guided horseback riding!
