Dive For Debris

Event Dates:
April 30, 2023, 8:00 am

Dive For Debris April 30th under pier

Gulf State Park Pier offers so many unique adventures for anglers and sightseers. It is a favorite spot for watching the sunrise or sunset, observing wildlife, eating dinner, or even catching dinner! As anglers take their places to reel in the biggest catches, often fishing line, weights, and other debris gets tangled among the pilings. Sometimes, cups, bait containers, and the occasional cell phone may drop into the water. We want to do our part help clean it up!

Come and join us for our 3rd Dive for Debris Underwater Cleanup. We are partnering with Down Under Dive Shop and Red Flag Surf & Dive to make this event safe and successful! The pier will be open for sightseers, but fishing will be postponed from 8:00 AM until noon, or until the cleanup is finished (whichever comes first.)

Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 8:00am – noon.

In the event of Foul Weather, the dive may be postponed to Sunday Sunday, April 30th.

To Register, contact Cindy Langston at Gulfevents.statepark@dcnr.alabama.gov. With registration, you will receive a free parking pass and one free tank of air from Down Under Dive Shop (you must pick up your own tank before the event – bring your confirmation of registration to the dive shop at 1129 Gulf Shores Parkway.)

Those who dive/snorkel will get a free hotdog, chips & fountain drink, provided by the pier. Door prizes after the event for registered participants.
