Field Trips
Welcome to Gulf State Park Field Trips!
We look forward to helping your students explore the wonders of southern Alabama’s natural world and incredible biodiversity. Through engaging, hands-on experiences, they’ll make personal connections with our wildlife and landscapes, and leave with a deeper appreciation for the importance of protecting our natural resources.
For information on prices and to schedule a field trip, please fill out the school field trip reservation form, save it to you computer, and then email it to Hannah Russell, Head Naturalist at: Hannah.Russell@DCNR.Alabama.gov
Upon receipt of the form, Hannah will reach out to you (via email) and work with you to develop and schedule your class field trip.
Field Trip Choices Include:
Wild Sense Safari
Wild Sense Safari is a hands-on adventure where young explorers use their senses to discover the sights, sounds, textures, and smells of nature, meet native reptiles, and uncover clues about local wildlife—all while blending learning with play.

Shoreline Safari
Students explore Gulf Coast habitats, discover coastal wildlife, learn about sea turtles, and help protect the shoreline—all while enjoying sandy fun and taking home a seashell souvenir.

Wetland Explorers
Students explore lakes and wetlands, meet native reptiles, and observe aquatic life—blending science, discovery, and play into one unforgettable day.

Shores to Shallows
Shores to Shallows takes students from pier to beach to explore marine life, sea turtles, and dune ecosystems—connecting coastal history, wildlife, and conservation in one engaging experience.

Field Lab: Science Beyond The Classroom
Students head into the field to explore gopher tortoise habitats, practice bird and plant identification, and experience hands-on research in Alabama’s ecosystems.
