Calling all homeschoolers! 

Join us on December 8th and become a citizen scientist as we deep dive into the winter plants of Gulf State Park!

You will learn about many of the plant species that call Gulf State Park home, go on an exciting scavenger hunt for native and invasive plants, and learn about the mysterious plant nicknamed "Alabama's Snow"!



Session 1: All Ages 

10:30 - 11:00: Meet at the Learning Campus where we will learn about the many different plants that can be found in the winter months at Gulf State Park.

11:00 - 12:00: Plant Scavenger Hunt! We will embark on an exciting scavenger hunt on our trails as we search for and identify the many different plants in the park. You will explore and learn about our beautiful forest ecosystems, will participate in invasive species citizen science, and will leave with the ability to identify plants in your own backyard!



Optional Social at Woodside Restaurant for lunch:

12:00 - 1:30: Join us at Woodside restaurant for lunch and games, where you will enjoy time with your family, meet other homeschoolers, and get to know the people who work in the park! Games provided; lunch not included.
